COVID-19 Update

Late last Friday President Trump declared a national emergency related to the coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19. GRS wants you to be assured that at all times personal safety is GRS’ utmost concern for our clients, for our employees and for others. That’s just as true during periods of “normal” operations as well as in this time of the coronavirus pandemic. But even now GRS is ready to meet your emergency response needs. In fact, with our wide web of experienced professionals, we are able respond with experienced professionals from multiple locations near you. Naturally enough, there is still much uncertainty with respect to the virus, it’s transmission and any insurance implications. Some facts are known:

 Patients with COVID-19 may experience mild to severe respiratory illness.

 The virus is thought to spread mainly between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

 It also may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

 This virus is different from others in that OHSA reminds us that any incidents of employees contracting the novel coronavirus at work are recordable illnesses, subject to the same rules and failure-to-record fines as other workplace injuries and illnesses.

GRS is aligned with and supportive of organizations adapting their working arrangements to slow the spread of COVID-19. GRS has implemented recommended safety protocols for all of our adjusters interacting with clients and the public – especially when inspecting properties. These measures include personal distancing, use of disposal gloves, frequent hand washing and even inquiring about the potential for exposure.

Connect with us on Social Media for support and community updates. As a corporation, GRS’ strength and capabilities come from taking care of our clients, employees and community. We remain coordinated and will continue to provide clarity on the health and safety of you and yours and to disseminate information regarding the virus. If your business is impacted by COVID-19 threat, you’ll want to track your costs associated with your actions. In cases where there may be insurance coverage it could be subject to sublimits and may be dependent on specific policy wording. Daily states are requiring increased restrictions on movements and activity. On behalf of the entire GRS team, we are here for you during this time of uncertainty. When you have an emergency response situation, GRS is ready to respond for you. For more information, please visit globalrisksolutions.com.
